    granted by the Holy See to the United States
    Conference of Catholic Bishops in the same
    year.
    Is a day of obligation, because it is a
    Sunday.
  • Tuesday, August 15, 2006
    The Assumption of Mary
    Is a day of obligation.
  • Wednesday, November 1, 2006
    All Saints
    Is a day of obligation.
  • Friday, December 8, 2006
    The Immaculate Conception of Mary
    Is a day of obligation.
  • Monday, December 25, 2006
    The Nativity of the Lord
    Always a day of obligation.
  • Monday, January 1, 2007
    Mary, Mother of God
    Not a day of obligation in 2007

Concerning Holy Days in the United States -
In addition to Sunday, the days to be observed as holy days of obligation in the Latin Rite dioceses of the USA include the following solemnities:

  • Mary, Mother of God (Jan. 1); the Ascension
  • the Assumption of Mary (Aug. 15);
  • All Saints (Nov. 1)
  • the Immaculate Conception (Dec. 8)
  • Christmas (Dec. 25)
  • Whenever January 1, the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, Aug. 15, the solemnity of the Assumption, Nov. 1, the solemnity of All Saints, falls on a Saturday or on a Monday, the obligation to attend
    Mass is lifted.
